Activision Expects DJ Hero to be a Slow Starter

A million gross sales in the first calendar month would live a neat start for DJ Wedge, but that International Relations and Security Network't what publisher Activision is expecting.

It's not often that a publisher is inclined to accommodate that their stake is not going to be the best-merchandising thing since gold-plated impressive, so when Red Octane co-founder Kai Huang says that Disk-jockey Hero is not going to be topping sales graph, it's refreshingly honest.

"We're not expecting a typical videogame curve where you sell the majority of the units in the first month and then information technology decays quickly," Huang aforesaid. "We're expecting this to be the type of game that may come outgoing of the gate a trivial fleck slower, simply uphold to grow over time."

"We've got a bit of a head start, people have an understanding what music games are, it has the 'Grinder' brand along it," he said. "Merely at the indistinguishable clock, people don't bed what a DJ game is. They Don River't know what you'rhenium supposed to do. Our scheme again is to focus on in-store demos."

I'll be downright, IT's only recently that my stake has been piqued by DJ Hero, and that's largely because it features Vanilla Ice vs MC Hammer; but I've never really been a fan of ballroom music then I'm not sure if I commode necessarily hope my judgment on the courageous.

What do you reckon about information technology? Will Disk jockey Hero be a slow-burning hit, Oregon an sticky flop? Or, will information technology defy expectations and sell like the proverbial hot cakes?
